Homemade Mandarin Orange Sauce
Difficulty: ✿✿
Ingredients
1/4 cup water
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon unseasoned rice vinegar
1 tablespoon orange concentrate (regular orange juice is fine)
1 teaspoon oriental sesame oil
½ tablespoon sake wine (though any cooking wine will do)
1 teaspoon cornstarch
¼ teaspoon ginger puree (ground ginger is fine as well)
¼ teaspoon orange zest
⅛ teaspoon dried crushed red pepper (add more if desired for more spice)
Instructions
Mix ingredients together in a bowl.
Pour the mix into a pan and turn the heat up to high so that the sauce thickens up; once it starts bubbling is usually when it is done.
Pour over or use as a dipping sauce, it is delicious either way; enjoy!
