7 Things You Can Do to Start Your Day Off Right


Do you want to be happy? Do you want to be productive? Do you want to have a good day? If your answer to any of those questions was yes, then you're in the right place. Here are my tips to you on how to start your day on a positive note.

  • Make your bed. Pretty simple, right? If you make your bed as soon as you get up, you'll get a sense of productivity early in the morning and you'll already be on your way to a better day.

  • Meditate. Doing this at the beginning of your day will keep you in a calm and mindful headspace. I like to meditate for a minimum of 10 minutes every morning as soon as I wake up. If you don't have time to meditate as soon as you wake up, that's fine, feel free to do it whenever you are comfortable.

  • Exercise. This could mean doing some jumping jacks or crunches in your bedroom or it could mean going for a morning jog. Either way, it gets your blood pumping and you'll feel much better and ready for the day ahead.

  • Hydrate. Drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up. This can keep you from feeling groggy. I also try to steer clear of caffeinated drinks as an addition to this as your body doesn't need (or want) those toxins to keep you running; it only feels that way if you've been drinking it every day and you feel as though you can't function without some caffeine in your system (that's caffeine addiction). So drink water!

  • Eat breakfast. You've heard all your life that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and that is completely correct. Don't forget to give your body fuel before starting your day.

  • Look in the mirror and appreciate you. You'd be surprised how far this simple action can go. Tell yourself you love yourself. Focus on how beautiful and truly amazing you are. Doing this every morning will just keep you in a generally good mood, in my experience anyway.

  • Clean yourself. Take a shower and wash off excess dirt and sweat that may have accumulated in the past 24 hours. Showering will also do well to wake you up and leave you feeling refreshed.
